First full day in SLC
We started our day by heading to Gospel Grace to worship alongside them. The ladies had the blessing of being part of a women's equipping hour, where they discussed the importance of sharing the gospel as a conversation rather than a presentation. The men were part of an equipping hour about being men of integrity. During the worship service we had the privilege of being taught by John Moon, who spoke on John 18:12-27. It was a refreshing morning worshiping and spending time in God's word! It was also an added treat to meet up with Andrew Wilmarth and Ben Cassidy. After service we headed out to lunch and then hit the road to enjoy an afternoon up at Park City. Later in the evening we headed to downtown SLC where we had dinner, grabbed some ice cream and headed to Temple Square. We wanted to end the night reminding the team why we are here and encourage them with the truth of God's word. We were able to pray together that the Lord would prepare our hearts to love the people of SLC and to serve the church well. We wrapped it up by singing "All I have is Christ", which was a humbling reminder that any and all things that get accomplished this week will not be by our own strength but by Christ working through us. As we wrapped up our time there Victor, Jeff and Kelly were approached by Temple security and they kindly asked us to neither sing or pray on the Temple Square grounds. Although, one of the guards did say that he wished he could allow it, because he thought it was sweet to hear such young people sing out the way they did! We ended the night by swimming and heading to bed because we have a long and full day tomorrow! Please be praying for the hearts of our students to be burdened for the lost, and that our love for Christ would pour out as we serve. Tomorrow we begin Plant Camp and we will have many opportunities to be stretched and to grow. Enjoy the pics!
