We were all excited to start our 2nd day of Plant Camp. The theme this year for Plant Camp is out of 2 Peter 1 “Be Who You Are.” We spent the morning studying verses 1-15 with Will Galkin remembering who we are in Christ. We then had a great time in small groups talking about all that we had just been reminded of.
Mid morning we headed to the Longoria’s home to help with their Backyard Bible Club. The Longoria’s live in Sandy, about 20 mins away from Gospel Grace. It was a blessing to see the students serving in many different ways, from holding babies to pulling weeds. Their willingness to serve in whatever way asked, with joyful hearts, has been an encouragement to all of us leaders.
After Backyard Bible Club we brought lunch back to Gospel Grace and then Jon Kopp taught a session on the Gospel. He gave us all a reminder that the Gospel is needed daily and that we all need to know the correct definition in order to share it well. He gave us two illustrations to help in sharing the complete gospel. One being using the word DONE. Most people who do not know the complete message of the Gospel think that their standing before God is something they must DO but the truth that they need to know is that the Gospel is something that God has already DONE. The second illustration included a picture that showed the separation between sinful man and Holy God with the cross connecting the two. It illustrated the work that Christ accomplished on man's behalf and then Kopp made the important point that there must be a response of repentance on man's part in order to be made right with God. It was a great reminder that we need to be sharing a complete Gospel.
The rest of the afternoon was spent informing the neighborhoods around Gospel Grace Church about the summer events the church has planned. This included walking up and down many blocks hanging door hangers and passing out fliers. Again, our students served well with hearts that were glad.
We finished the night with dinner and a lesson on how to give surveys, which we will be doing tomorrow in the park, and then John Kopp ended the night with a message on why it's important that we fear the Lord and he taught from Ecclesiastes 12:13-14. When we returned back to the hotel Jeff and Victor encouraged the team to take some time and meditate on what was taught and to examine their own hearts to see if they are truly fearing the Lord as God deserves.
"The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil." Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

Tomorrow we hit the streets informing and inviting people to Church in the Park for tomorrow night. The students will also be using surveys to get into Gospel conversations with people in the park tomorrow afternoon. Please be praying for those conversations tomorrow and for rest tonight. We appreciate all of your prayers! Enjoy the pics. . .
